Day 39: Reviewing multiplying and dividing integers

We reviewed the assessment. Several attained level 3 or 4. There were many who earned a level 2.5, but about eight earned a level 2 or less. For some reason a couple of students thought (5)(-7) meant 5 – 7, even though the practice problems were using parentheses.  Others made careless errors by not including the sign.  I told them these are the kinds of problems where you MUST attend to precision. I can accept a minor calculation error, but I can’t accept not including the sign.

Those who need to reassess will have another opportunity on Friday.
